| •Distribute federal Safe Routes to School funds to cities, schools and non-profit organizations,
for infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects, to encourage young students to walk and
bike to and from school;
•Develop and coordinate state policy on bicycle and pedestrian transportation issues and
provide technical assistance statewide on bike and pedestrian issues;
•Provide technical assistance for the development of the Statewide Bicycle and Pedestrian
Plan; and
•Provide technical assistance during the review of bicycle and pedestrian related
Transportation Enhancement applications.
