| A Partnership Project Board of Directors has been
established to provide guidance as KDOT works toward implementing Partnership
Project initiatives. The idea of a Board of Directors was raised at a Managers
Meeting in November 2003 as a way to challenge KDOTs traditional way
of doing business and to help the Partnership Project maintain momentum.
Much like a corporate board of directors, the purpose of this seven-member
board is to provide overall direction to and serve as a sounding board for
the sub-teams working to implement the recommendations that came out of
the first phase of the Partnership Project. Members were selected to provide
a variety of perspectives. The board will include the following KDOT employees:
Secretary Miller, State Transportation Engineer Warren Sick, Area Engineer
Joe Palic and Subarea Supervisor Gerald Huehl. To provide the external perspective,
Steve Cottrell (City Engineer for Garden City) and Ann Charles (Parson Sun
Newspaper Publisher), and Highway Advisory Commissioner Chuck Elsea will
also participate.
