WORK ZONE INFORMATION

Work zone activity often begins and ends abruptly with little advance warning. A route may be passable one day and restricted on the day a load is scheduled to move. As a result, it is very important holders of an annual permit contact the local KDOT office(s) before moving loads to make sure there are no active work zones on the routes being traveled.

The continued use of an annual permit may be jeopardized if a mover has repeatedly passed through a work zone that has been restricted to a width less than the width of the load. An annual permit may also be jeopardized if a mover continually damages KDOT property or fails to comply with the rules and regulations associated with the movement of oversize or overweight loads.
