Law Enforcement Training Opportunities
2008 Training Agenda
The following is upcoming training opportunities for law enforcement

Standardized
Field Sobriety (SFST) - This class is designed to certify
the officer in the use of proven field sobriety evaluations.
January 28, 29, 30 - WICHITA PD/SEDGWICK CO SHERIFF'S OFFICE
SFST 4 Hour Refresher - This class is a 4 hour refresher class to bring the SFST Practioner up to speed using Standardized Field Sobriety.

Sobriety Checkpoint Supervisor Training - This class is designed to assist the supervisor with the knowledge and tools to conduct a sobriety checkpoint.

Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) Training - This class is designed to give
certified law enforcement officers the ability to identify persons
who may be driving under the influence of a category of drugs,
other than alcohol.

OTHER CLASSES:
Drugs in the Academic Environment - This is an 8 hour class designed to assist School Administrators, Teachers, School Resource Offices, Counselors and School Nurses in the detection of drug use by children. An additional 6 hours is available to school nurses. 14 hours of CEU can be given to school nurses.

Drugs That Impair Driving - This class is designed to help the officer in identifying a person who is driving under the influence of drugs other than alcohol. You need to be SFST Certified to attend this class.

Traffic Occupant Protection (TOPS) - This class is designed to assist law enforcement with the importance of seatbelt use by both the officer and the public.

Child Passenger Safety Technician - This class is designed to provide individuals with extensive knowledge of child passenger safety.
