The KDOT Bureau of Transportation Safety and Technology, Traffic Safety Section, directs their efforts to raise seatbelt usage, reduce traffic fatalities, and raise the child restraint rate in the State of Kansas. To accomplish these goals, KDOT BTST often partners with
outside sources including law enforcement agencies,
Emergency Medical Services, primary and secondary schools,
Health Departments, safety coalitions and others.
Partnering includes funding for the following projects:
STEP - Special Traffic Enforcement Program
Kansas Traffic Safety Resource Office
Public Information and Education
CPS Safety Seats
Booster Seat Awareness
