Design Standards Usage

The Kansas Department of Transportation encourages the use of the Design Standards developed by the State Bridge Office. These Standards have been developed to aid designers, working on Kansas state and local projects, and provide uniformity and economy to our Kansas Contractors and Fabricators. Also, other Departments of Transportation or other Governmental agencies can request and receive KDOT Design Standards upon approval of the State Bridge Office. While it is our intent to share this information freely with the entities as stated, it is not our intent to provide this information to all who request it for the purpose of project development outside of the criteria above, or for research unknown to and not supported by the State of Kansas. These requests will be decided on a case by case basis by the State Bridge Office.
