Are KTA requirements different than Kansas OSOW requirements?
Yes

The KTA is not under the jurisdiction of the KDOT. It establishes is own rules, regulations and procedures.
Are triple-trailer configurations allowed in Kansas or the Kansas Turnpike Authority (KTA)?
Triple trailer combinations are not allowed to operate outside the limitations specified in K.S.A. 8-1914 . Triple-trailers are allowed to operate on the Kansas Turnpike(KTA) A special KTA access permit is required which allows multiple combinations and other longer combinations to exit and enter the KTA freely as long as they are moving between the companys terminal and the KTA toll booth. A Special Vehicle Combination (SVC) is permitted to access only the portion of the Interstate between Goodland Kansas and the Colorado line . The cost is $2000.00 per company and $50.00 per power unit. See the manual "Truckn’Through Kansas” for more information about permits.
