 What We Do

The Bureau is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting information concerning the development and management of the statewide transportation system. The Bureau Chief has supervisory responsibility for eight major areas. These eight functional units consist of Traffic and Field Operations, Geometric and Accident Data, Cartography/Geographic Information Systems, Urban Planning, Statewide Planning, Public Transportation, Rail Affairs, and Intelligent Transportation Systems with duties as follows:
