Activities include a number of diversified technical tasks regarding mapping and the geographic display of information.

Maps are designed and periodically revised for cities, counties, and the state including the official state transportation map. Records are maintained on corporate boundaries for the purpose of determining payments to cities for maintenance of city connecting links.

The staff is also responsible for Geographic Information System (GIS) concepts and technology that provide the framework for an integrated highway information system for use in enhancing the planning, design, construction, maintenance, management and operation of an integrated statewide transportation system.
