Activities include maintaining computerized data bases encompassing road surface, bridge and road geometry, travel data, railroad crossing features, and traffic accident data for the State Highway System and other major roads and streets.

Information from these databases is used to identify and prioritize system needs and to guide the use of Federal Safety funds. This unit is responsible for data submittal to the Federal Highway Administration for the Highway Performance Monitoring System and the National Bridge Inventory System. Information from this unit’s databases is used in most computerized decision-making models in the agency.
