KDOT Public Involvement Plan Available for Review

The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) invites public review and comments on a draft of its proposed new public involvement plan, Sharing the Future – Public Involvement in the Kansas Transportation System. The document was prepared in part to address federal regulations dealing with public involvement in transportation planning, project programming, and project design (23 CFR 771 and 23 CFR 450).

The draft plan is available for download from the KDOT website, www.ksdot.org, or it can be viewed at any of the KDOT District or Area offices on the attached list. A copy is also available on request by contacting:

Comments must be submitted in writing or by email to Ron Kaufman at the address above or by fax at 785-296-0287. Comments must be postmarked or transmitted by the close of business on Friday, October 6, 2006. Substantive comments will be considered and responses will be summarized in the final version. Sharing the Future will become KDOT’s official public involvement plan once it is approved by the Federal Highway Administration.
