Northeast Kansas is a beehive of transportation activity. In order to manage the growth and prepare for an efficient and effective transportation system, the Kansas Department of Transportation and many local partners are working on projects and studies to further develop future improvements to the northeast Kansas region.

K-18 Ogden to Manhattan

K-18 Ogden to Manhattan Improvement Project

The K-18 project, will include an interchange, four bridges, a four-lane freeway over a two-mile stretch and more, is needed to support the significant population and economic growth that will occur between Fort Riley and Manhattan.  The project will be constructed in three phases. Phase one construction began in June 2010 and is expected to be completed in fall 2012. Phase two and three construction will begin in early summer 2011 and is expected to be completed in fall 2013.

K-18 Multi-Bridge Replacement Project in Wabaunsee County
