2023 LiDAR

Each linear feature represents a retaining wall that follows or is detectable from the State Highway System. These linear features are placed on the top of walls and generally follow continuous walls for their full extent.

Exceptions:

  • when a continuous wall follows a road/highway for a portion of its length as well as an associated entrance or exit ramp, the feature will be segmented where the ramp converges/diverges;
  • for sections of retaining walls below roadways (adjacent/parallel to roads passing below), the portion of the wall that runs perpendicular to the roadway it supports will be included in the same feature as the portion that runs parallel.

The dashboard for these features includes all extracted features, even those following routes off the State Highway System.

Please note that obstructions caused by trees, topography and structures (including other noise walls) may prevent detection of walls or may limit the extent of the extracted feature.

Follow this link Side of Road and Exposure for more information about the Side of Road field in the attribute table.
