Eastbound and Westbound I-435 to Southbound I-35 Ramp Closures

UPCOMING WEEKDAY OVERNIGHT RAMP CLOSURES: Eastbound and westbound I-435 to southbound I-35 ramps CLOSED overnight for grading work across ramps beginning at 10 p.m. on Wednesday-Friday, February 10-12 and Monday-Tuesday, February 15-16 and reopening to all traffic at 5 a.m. on Thursday-Saturday, February 11-13, and Tuesday-Wednesday, February 16-17, weather permitting. Marked detours will be provided. Traffic will detour onto northbound I-35 to 95th Street exit then back onto southbound I-35 to access eastbound or westbound I-435. Project work is scheduled to be completed on Wednesday, February 17. (REV. 2-5-16)

WEEKDAY LANE CLOSURE:  Westbound K-10 RIGHT LANE from I-435 to Renner Boulevard CLOSED for grading work on Monday-Wednesday, February 8-10 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Project work is scheduled to be completed on Wednesday, February 10. (NEW 2-5-16)

WEEKDAY LANE CLOSURE:  Eastbound K-10 LEFT LANE from from Ridgeview Road to Renner Boulevard CLOSED for guardrail repair work on Monday, February 8 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Project work is scheduled to be completed on Monday, February 8. (NEW 2-5-16)

WEEKDAY RAMP LANE CLOSURE:  Eastbound K-10 to eastbound I-435 LEFT RAMP LANE CLOSED for bridge work on Monday-Wednesday, February 8-10 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Project work is scheduled to be completed on Wednesday, February 10. (NEW 2-5-16)


I-35

WEEKDAY LANE CLOSURES:  Northbound and southbound TWO LEFT LANES from 159th Street to College Boulevard (one direction at a time) and ONE LEFT/RIGHT LANE at a time from 175th Street to 159th Street CLOSED for pothole repair work via a mobile operation on Monday-Wednesday, February 8-10 between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Project work is scheduled to be completed on Wednesday, February 10. (NEW 2-5-16)

WORK ON RIGHT OF WAY: Pipeline work on southbound I-35 right of way from Antioch Road to Johnson Drive will be in place on Monday-Monday, February 8-15. There will be no impacts to traffic. Project work is scheduled to be completed on Monday, February 15. (NEW 2-5-16)

I-435 Bridge Over Midland Drive

WORK ON RIGHT OF WAY: Survey work on the northbound and southbound I-435 bridges over Midland Drive will be in place on Monday-Tuesday, February 8-9 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. There will be no impacts to traffic. Project work is scheduled to be completed on Tuesday, February 9. (NEW 2-5-16)

K-7 & K-10 Interchange Lighting Project 

WEEKDAY WORK: K-7 and K-10 interchange ramp area work will take place for the installation of eight new tower lights beginning on Monday, December 7. Project work will take place off the highway right of way within the interchange ramp area. The only traffic impacts will be from the construction traffic entering and exiting the work zone throughout the project duration. Project work is scheduled to be completed in late February 2016. (REV. 2-1-16)

WYANDOTTE COUNTY

 

U.S. 73

24/7 LANE CLOSURES: Eastbound U.S. 73 RIGHT LANE from 16th Street to 7th Street CLOSED 24/7 round the clock for pavement work and general clean-up work beginning early morning on Wednesday-Monday, February 3-8, weather permitting. Project work is scheduled to be completed on Monday, February 8. (NEW 2-1-16)

UPCOMING 24/7 LANE CLOSURES: Eastbound U.S. 73 LEFT LANE from 16th Street to 7th Street CLOSED 24/7 round the clock for pavement work and general clean-up work beginning sometime after the right lane is reopened (see above) on Monday-Monday, February 8-15, weather permitting. Bradshaw & Gillette Streets at Marshall Drive Intersections

PERMANENT FULL ROADWAY CLOSURES: Gillette Street at Marshall Drive intersection was CLOSED permanently beginning at 9 a.m. TODAY, Wednesday, January 6 and Bradshaw Street at Marshall Drive intersection will CLOSE permanently beginning at 9 a.m. on Friday, January 8 for utility and cul-de-sac construction work. Both local streets will be closed at the Marshall Drive intersections permanently as crews complete construction work to turn both intersections into cul-de-sacs as part of the overall 95th Street and I-35 Diverging Diamond Interchange Project. Gillette Street is currently a one-way southbound roadway between Marshall Drive and 94th Place, and with this Marshall Drive intersection closure it will become a two-way roadway permanently. The cul-de-sac construction work will be completed in May 2016. (REV. 1-6-16)

Lenexa Drive Full Roadway Long-Term Closure

LONG-TERM FULL ROADWAY CLOSURE: Lenexa Drive from Rosehill Road to 96th Terrace FULLY CLOSED to traffic beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, January 25 through June 2016 for utility work related to the upcoming 95th Street and I-35 Diverging Diamond Interchange Project. The utility work will be completed on Monday, February 22, weather permitting. A marked detour will be provided. Traffic will detour via westbound 95th Street to southbound Monrovia Street to westbound 96th Terrace to access Lenexa Drive. Project work is scheduled to be completed in June 2016. (NEW 1-22-16)


U.S. 69 & 159th Street Interchange Project (City of Overland Park Project)

CITY OF OVERLAND PARK PROJECT > 24/7 LANE/SHOULDER CLOSURES: Northbound U.S. 69 from 159th Street to 151st Street and southbound U.S. 69 from 159th Street to 167th Street will have periodic shoulder/lane closures as needed to complete interchange finishing work. Overall project work is scheduled to be completed in Spring 2016. (REV. 11-3-15)

 

 

LEAVENWORTH COUNTY

 

K-32 Over I-70/KTA Bridge Replacement Project

UPCOMING LONG-TERM FULL BRIDGE CLOSURE: Eastbound and westbound K-32 Bridge I-70/Kansas Turnpike will be FULLY CLOSED to all traffic for construction of a new replacement bridge beginning early morning on Monday, February 15 through November 2016, weather permitting,in Leavenworth County.See news release below for more details on the K-32 bridge replacement project. On Monday, January 4, a replacement project began on the K-32 Bridge over I-70/Kansas Turnpike in Leavenworth County. Project work includes replacement of the existing 310-foot steel girder bridge (with 28-foot wide roadway) with a 325-foot welded plate girder bridge (with 47-foot wide roadway). Work will take place during daylight hours, Monday through Friday, with some occasional Saturday work. This KDOT bridge replacement construction project oversight will be managed in conjunction with our partner agency, the Kansas Turnpike Authority. Preliminary preparation work on the project began this past Monday, January 4. Beginning in late February 2016, eastbound and westbound K-32 over the I-70/KTA bridge will be closed to all traffic throughout the project duration. A marked detour will be provided. K-32 traffic will detour via K-7 north to U.S. 24/40 west and south back to K-32 and vice versa. Project work is scheduled to be completed in November 2016. (REV. 1-26-16)

 

 

WYANDOTTE COUNTY

 

 

I-70 Tower Light Replacement Project (I-670 Interchange to Kansas/Missouri State Line) 

WEEKDAY/WEEKEND DAY LANE CLOSURES: Eastbound and westbound I-70 from the I-670 interchange to the Kansas/Missouri State Line will have varying intermittent lane closures for a tower light replacement project beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, October 19 through early April 2016, weather permitting in Kansas City, KS (Wyandotte County). All adjacent interchange ramps will remain open. The contractor, Capital Electric (Minneapolis, MN), on this $1.32 million lighting project, will replace the light tower light poles located along this section of I-70. The existing tower lights are being replaced due to their aged condition. Project work hours are 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Monday-Friday, and 7 a.m.-7 p.m. on Saturdays. Project work is scheduled to be completed in early April 2016. (NEW 10-16-15)

U.S. 69 over Missouri River Bridge Replacement Project (MoDOT/KDOT Project) > #us69moriverbridge

24/7 LANE CLOSURES: Northbound and southbound U.S. 69 from I-635 (in Missouri) to Kindleberger Road in Kansas will be reduced to one lane in each direction, 24/7, beginning on Friday, October 24 for bridge replacement work. Both northbound and southbound U.S. 69 traffic will travel on the existing northbound U.S. 69 bridge (Platte Purchase Bridge). A crossover will be used to shift southbound U.S. 69 traffic to the existing Platte Purchase Bridge. The traffic switch is scheduled for Friday, October 31, 2014 and traffic will remain in this configuration until Thursday, December 1, 2016. Project work is scheduled to be completed on Thursday, December 1, 2016. (NEW 10-27-14)

U.S. 169 (Rainbow Boulevard)

WEEKDAY LANE CLOSURES: Northbound U.S. 169 Rainbow Boulevard at the West 39th Street Intersection will have varying lane closures for adjacent building construction beginning on Monday, September 28. Project work is scheduled to be completed in late May 2017. (NEW 9-28-15)
