K-10 & Ridgeview Road Interchange

EXPECT DELAYS! WEEKDAY OVERNIGHT LANE & ROADWAY CLOSURES: The following overnight lane and roadway closures will take place at the K-10 and Ridgeview Road interchange for demolition work on the Ridgeview Road bridge over K-10, as part of the new diverging diamond interchange work.

Eastbound and westbound K-10 traffic will be reduced to one lane each direction and will detour via the exit ramps, straight through the intersection, and back up the entrance ramps at Ridgeview Road. There will be no access for K-10 traffic to Ridgeview Road or Ridgeview Road traffic to K-10. K-10 traffic wishing to access Ridgeview Road will need to utilize the Woodland Road or Renner Boulevard exits during the overnight closures.   

Ridgeview Road will be closed just closed north of the 105th Street intersection. Ridgeview Road traffic wishing to access K-10 must use the Woodland Road or Renner Boulevard interchanges during the overnight roadway closure.Access will be provided to the local businesses south of K-10 via the 105th Street intersection. (Rev. 7-22-14)

I-35 & 75th Street Interchange Ramp Closures
Overall project work is scheduled to be completed in late August 2014

EXPECT DELAYS! 24/7 RAMP CLOSURES: Northbound I-35 to 75th Street exit ramp and 75th Street to southbound I-35 entrance ramp will be CLOSED, 24/7 round the clock, for pavement repair work for a City of Overland Park construction project beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 10 through late August 2014, weather permitting. The 75th Street to northbound I-35 entrance ramp will be restricted to right turns only during this same timeframe. Marked detours will be provided. Northbound I-35 traffic will detour via 67th Street exit and take eastbound 67th Street to Antioch Road, then southbound Antioch Road to eastbound 75th Street back to northbound I-35. 75th Street to southbound I-35 traffic will proceed eastbound on 75th Street across the bridge over I-35 to Antioch Road, then northbound on Antioch Road to westbound 67th Street back to southbound I-35. Project work is scheduled to be completed in late August 2014. (New 7-9-14)

I-435 & Roe Avenue Diverging Diamond Interchange Project
Overall project work is scheduled to be completed by late November 2014

EXPECT DELAYS! WEEKDAY/WEEKEND OVERNIGHT CLOSURES: Eastbound and westbound I-435 at Roe Avenue will be CLOSED to all traffic overnight, one direction each night, this upcoming weekend, July 25-27, so crews can set girders over I-435 for the new Roe Avenue bridge structure. See below for the specific closure dates and times. (Rev. 7-23-14)

Marked detour provided.  Eastbound I-435 traffic will exit at Nall Avenue and head south to College Boulevard, then east on College Boulevard to Roe Avenue and north on Roe Avenue back to eastbound I-435.

Marked detour provided. Westbound I-435 traffic will exit at Roe Avenue and head north on Roe Avenue to 103rd Street, then west on 103rd Street to Nall Avenue and south on Nall Avenue back to westbound I-435. See map below.

K-7/U.S. 169 at I-35 Pavement Replacement Project
Overall project work is scheduled to be completed by late September 2014

EXPECT DELAYS! 24/7 WEEKEND CLOSURES: Varying closures at the K-7 / U.S. 169 / 151st Street and I-35 interchange will occur for pavement reconstruction work this weekend beginning at 9:00 p.m. Friday, July 25 and reopening to all traffic at 5:00 a.m. on Monday, July 28, weather permitting. The weekend closures include: both northbound and southbound K-7/U.S. 169 traffic will be reduced to one single lane each direction through the interchange area; access to West Meadow Lane (mall entrance) and Hamilton Circle will be closed. Marked detours will be provided. Hamilton Circle traffic will proceed to Old U.S. 56 to Public Safety Entrance (Road) for access during the weekend closure. Project work is scheduled to be completed on Monday, July 28. EXPECT DELAYS! 24/7 LANE & RAMP CLOSURES: Northbound and Southbound K-7/U.S. 169 from Hamilton Circle to 153rd Street are now open to a single through lane each direction for pavement replacement work. The ramps from K-7/U.S. 169 and 151st Street are reduced one lane for pavement patching. Periodic weekend closures on intersections will occur for pavement replacement. Project work is scheduled to be completed in late September 2014.  (Rev. 7-16-14)

EXPECT DELAYS! WEEKDAY RAMP LANE CLOSURE: Southbound US-69 right lane on ramp to 119th Street will be CLOSED for core drilling work on Friday, July 25 between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Project work is scheduled to be completed on Friday, July 25. (New 7-24-14)

159th Street / U.S. 169

WEEKDAY LANE CLOSURE: Northbound U.S. 169 right lane from 159th Street to the south 1,000 feet will be CLOSED for pavement widening work beginning on Monday, July 14. Lane closures will be in place daily, Monday-Saturday between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Project work is scheduled to be completed in late August 2014. (New 7-16-14)

118th Street Over I-70 Bridge Replacement Project
Overall project work is scheduled to be completed in mid-November 2014

EXPECT DELAYS! WEEKDAY LANE CLOSURE: Eastbound and westbound I-70 at 118th Street will be reduced to one lane each direction for material delivery on Friday, July 25 between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Project work is scheduled to be completed on Friday, July 25. (New 7-24-14)

I-635 at Gibbs Road Bridge Replacement Project

EXPECT DELAYS! WEEKDAY LANE CLOSURE: Southbound I-635 right lane - exit lane off Metropolitan Avenue that serves as entrance lane to Shawnee Drive will be CLOSED for equipment loading/unloading on Monday-Friday, July 14-August 1 between 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. daily. Project work is scheduled to be completed on Friday, August 1. (Rev. 7-16-14)

EXPECT DELAYS! 24/7 LANE CLOSURES: Northbound I-635 at Gibbs Road bridge location will be reduced to TWO OPEN LANES for setting of bridge girders, 24/7 round the clock, on Tuesday-Friday, July 15-25, except for times noted below. Project work is scheduled to be completed on Friday, July 25. (New 7-11-14)

WEEKDAY LANE CLOSURES: Northbound and southbound I-635 at Gibbs Road bridge location will be reduced to ONE OPEN LANE for setting of bridge girders on Monday-Friday, July 14-25 between 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. daily. I-35 Spoon Creek & Bull Creek Bridge Repair Project
Overall project work is scheduled to be completed in September 2014

EXPECT DELAYS! 24/7 LANE CLOSURES: Northbound and southbound I-35 over Spoon Creek and Bull Creek between Sunflower Road and Homestead Lane exits will be reduced to one lane each direction, 24/7 round the clock, for bridge repair work beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, June 2, through early September 2014. Project work is scheduled to be completed in early September 2014. (New 5-30-14)

I-435 at 87th Street Bridge Repair Project
Overall project work is scheduled to be completed by late August 2014

EXPECT DELAYS! 24/7 LANE CLOSURES: Northbound I-435 at 87th Street will be reduced to two open lanes beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 14 and then at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 15, southbound I-435 at 87th Street will be reduced to two open lanes and these lane closures will remain in place, 24/7 round the clock, throughout the project duration for bridge repair work. Project work is scheduled to be completed in late August 2014. (Rev. 5-12-14)

I-435 & Roe Avenue Diverging Diamond Interchange Project
Overall project work is scheduled to be completed by late November 2014

EXPECT DELAYS! 24/7 ROADWAY CLOSURE: Roe Avenue over I-435 will be CLOSED to all traffic through beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, May 30, as crews complete construction work on the new Roe Avenue bridges. Marked detours will be provided. Project work is scheduled to be completed in late October 2014. (New 5-28-14)

24/7 RAMP LANE CLOSURE: Westbound I-435 to Roe Avenue entrance ramp left turn lane will be CLOSED, 24/7 round the clock beginning on Wednesday, May 28 at 9:00 a.m. for bridge replacement work. Project work is scheduled to be completed in late October 2014. (Rev. 5-30-14)

24/7 RAMP LANE CLOSURES: All left turn movements from eastbound I-435 ramps to Roe Avenue will be CLOSED, 24/7 round the clock beginning on Thursday, May 29 at 9:00 a.m. for bridge replacement work. Project work is scheduled to be completed in late October 2014. (Rev. 5-30-14)

U.S. 56 over I-35 Bridge Repair Project
Overall project work is scheduled to be completed in late October 2014

EXPECT DELAYS! 24/7 LANE CLOSURES: Eastbound and westbound U.S. 56 over the I-35 bridges will be reduced to one lane each direction for bridge repair and overly work, 24/7 round the clock, beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, July 14 throughout the project duration. All interchange ramps will remain open. Project work is scheduled to be completed in late October 2014. (New 7-11-14)

 

 

LEAVENWORTH COUNTY

 

U.S. 73 / K-7 Pavement Replacement Project
Overall project work is scheduled to be completed in late December 2014

24/7 LANE CLOSURES: Northbound and southbound U.S. 73/K-7 from 20th Street to the north junction of Leavenworth County Road 14/Santa Fe Trail will be CLOSED to all traffic beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, July 7 for pavement replacement work. A marked detour will be provided via Leavenworth County Road 14. Project work is scheduled to be completed in late December 2014. (New 7-3-14)

 

WYANDOTTE COUNTY

 

I-70 & K-7 Interchange Project
Overall project work scheduled to be completed in late Fall 2014

K-7

24/7 LANE CLOSURES: Northbound and southbound K-7 from south of Kansas Avenue to north of Riverview Avenue will be shifted and placed one lane each direction, side by side, onto the existing southbound lanes while the northbound lanes are reconstructed, beginning sometime after morning rush hour on Thursday, June 11 through late August 2014, weather permitting. Also, the I-70 to southbound K-7 double left turn lane movement will remain reduced to ONE OPEN left turn lane throughout the project duration. See map above for traffic shift configuration. Project work is scheduled to be completed in late August 2014. (New 6-11-14)

24/7 TRAFFIC SHIFT: Eastbound I-70/Kansas Turnpike from 134th Street to just west of K-7 will be shifted to the north and restricted to two 12-foot wide lanes reducing both inside and outside shoulders to 4-foot each. This traffic shift is needed for adjacent ramp construction work for Phase One of the K-7 & I-70 Interchange Project in Wyandotte County. Project work is scheduled to be completed in early October 2014. (New 4-28-14)

118th Street Over I-70 Bridge Replacement Project
Overall project work is scheduled to be completed in mid-November 2014

24/7 BRIDGE CLOSURE: 118th Street from Riverview Avenue to Speedway Boulevard will be CLOSED to all traffic for bridge replacement work beginning on Monday, March 17, 24/7 round the clock, throughout the project duration. A marked detour will be provided via 110th Street. Access to Sunflower Hills Golf Course will remain open during the project duration. For golf course access, drivers will continue on Riverview Avenue to Tom Lally Drive. Project work is scheduled to be completed in mid-November 2014. (New 3-21-14)

Gibbs Road over I-635 Bridge Replacement Project
Overall project work is scheduled to be completed in early September 2014

WEEKDAY OVERNIGHT LANE CLOSURES: Southbound I-635 right exit lane off of Metropolitan Avenue that serves as entrance lane to Shawnee Drive will be CLOSED for bridge construction work on Monday-Friday, June 23-August 1 between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. each day. Project work is scheduled to be completed on Friday, August 1. (New 6-24-14)

24/7 LANE CLOSURE: Southbound I-635 left lane at Gibbs Road will be CLOSED for eight consecutive weeks, 24/7 round the clock, beginning after morning rush hour on Tuesday, May 20 through late July, for bridge pier construction work on the new Gibbs Road Bridge over I-635. Project work is scheduled to be completed in late July. (New 5-20-14)

24/7 ROADWAY CLOSURE: Eastbound and westbound Gibbs Road from 42nd Street to 47th Street will be CLOSED to all through traffic, 24/7 round the clock, beginning on Monday, May 5, after morning rush hour, throughout the project duration. A marked detour will be provided. Traffic will detour via 42nd and 47th Streets to Shawnee Drive. Overall project work is scheduled to be completed in early September 2014. (New 4-28-14)

U.S. 73 / K-7 at Piper Creek Bridge Replacement Project
Overall project work is scheduled to be completed in late September 2014

24/7 LANE CLOSURES: Northbound and southbound U.S. 73/K-7 traffic will be shifted and placed side by side, one lane each direction, in the existing northbound U.S. 73/K-7 lanes from Parallel Parkway to Donahoo Road for bridge replacement work beginning around 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 9 through late September 2014.
